SING IT SINGING LESSONS

Singing Lessons wit Tracey Arbo

WELCOME TO SING IT

OUTLINE

Lesson 1 begins with the basics and is the necessary start to good singing technique.  If you have had lessons prior, and have not been taught by a singing teacher who understands where to place sound for various tonal qualities and styles of singing, then this one's for you.

The 'Sing It' course consists of 5 singing lessons, however, as the course progresses, you should take your time and focus on one or two given techniques and exercises.

Although it is a 5 lesson course, this does not mean it is the equivalent to 5 individual singing lessons.

Practice your breathing techniques first, until you feel you have your diaphragm working correctly.

  • Always try to have a mirror handy to see how you are shaping your mouth and to make sure your shoulders remain relaxed.

  • Try and practice at least half an hour a day.

  • Think of your voice as you would think of running; when you begin to exercise you can't sprint as your muscles are not use to the workout. You will need to make attempts to practice each day to allow the vocal chords to develop properly, just as a muscle takes time to build.

  • If you are hoping to sing popular music as opposed to classical, be careful not to strain the top end of your range. Keep relaxed as possible, (other than your diaphragm) when approaching the higher notes in your chest voice.

  • After you have felt you have your diaphragm working, then try to master two exercises each week.

  • The exercises in the course are not only to focus on correct techniques, but they are to be used as regular warm up exercises before you sing any song.

This course equals to approx 12-15 singing lessons.
